In my home town (10 miles from where I live now) there is a restaurant by the river, and they have a river steamer/paddleboat that they take out for dinner cruises. Great model!

I'm just old enough to remember the last days of the working river boats. When I was little I'd go down to the banks of the Ohio River and wait for grandpa to come home from work. There was no bridge back then and a paddle boat still served as the ferry across the river.

Wonderful image. Brilliant scene. Ever been on a paddlewheel steamer? Very different experience. No vibration from engine and screw. Gliding along almost like magic except the slow periodic chuff from the pistons.
