Description

One thing you never can hide, is when you’re crippled inside. Date Created: September 03, 2020 Software Tools: Poser 11 Pro, Photoshop CC, ON1 Effects This was partially inspired by how I was/am feeling and the John Lennon song (Crippled Inside from the 1971 Imagine album). Both the song and the artwork is about the fact that no matter how hard you try to hide it or minimize it, and whether it looks like it from the outside or not, you can’t change the fact that on the inside you are broken. I haven’t created a personal piece like this in a while so it was about damn time that I did. Most of the time, I create artworks from ideas that I sketched out usually days or sometimes even months or years before. This time though, the idea for this artwork struck me as I sat down at my workstation and I immediately set about to create it before the idea and inspiration escaped me. Such nice work with her expression and body language and the trace of tears on her cheeks. The overlay of the "cracked" version of her self-perception is also well done, as is the lighting. I know right now it feels like there's a broken person inside, but I hope she can find a path towards healing and wholeness!

Your work is so fantastic for me, Lizzie. Every detail is filled with such emotion. Like the Red Violin where the blood of the guy's wife is in the paint, your blood is in every bit of every pixel you render. This is a particular favourite for me. :)

Good art evokes emotions - so this is VERY good. We all carry baggage, some is permanent - some can be left behind. But we all carry it... it must be part of being human.
