Description
when I was a kid I remember a local shoe maker, a row of big chairs lined the side if the wall.
there where shoes all over the place, the aroma of real leather.
new soles and heels while you wait, cut by hand
the glue from a jar with the brush that looked older than him, the clang of a machine that sowed the shoe together,
now we have manufacturing more shoe than we can imagine, but what we did not know that the shoe we have now caused the
dying of a craftsman

Trade jobs need support.

I remember the shoe makers who were always gently tapping new heels onto shoes when I went in for sneaker shoe strings, Loved the smell of leather and shoe polish, all of which are lost to the ages. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Believe it or not we still have one in the Flint area. And a Kirby vacuum dealer. Cool scene : )

So very true. I have some nostalgia also for the lost arts and craftmanship that have been overtaken by machines and mass production. :) Beautiful tribute here. :)

Looks a lot tidier than our local shoemaker's shop did!
