Description
Excalibur was the wondrous sword of Arthur. Though, this sword had appeared in Geoffrey of Monmouth’s work, called it Caliburn, as the fabled sword that was a gift from Avalon, it wasn’t until in the later legend that Excalibur was a sword given to him by the Lady of the Lake. Geoffrey’s Caliburn didn’t have any significant role in Arthur’s legend.
