Description
Raw image from my modeling software -- Anim8or (believe it or not -- it's what I know and I've been using it for a long, long time).
Working on general layout. So far I'd just been assuming I could shoe-horn an LS1 into it (it may be a Ford on the outside, but like all good American street rods, it's got Corvette power inside). It fits fine with room to spare.
First test for general driver positioning. I always design to accommodate a human my size, and I'm a giant.
Completely new mesh for the signature 49 Ford grill surround, and first rough definition of the radiator housing.

The project looks great so far. I am certain that when you are all done...you will feel a sense of accomplishment at what you have created! I am a Ford guy since I happen to like Ford Gt's , Detomaso Panteras and Shelby Cobras. I also happen to have a lot of respect, for the level of performance that you can create out of an LS1. Its a great engine! I like the route you are going with it! I look forward to seeing the end project! Very well done! :-)

I've had Corvettes for decades (currently loving my C7 when I'm back in the States), but my first car was a '66 Mustang. For a looong time, Chevy did a way better job of packaging their performance engines as "crate motors" that were almost plug-and-play for hot rodders, so that's one reason it's so common to see a GM crate motor as the power-plant in so many street rods. Ford's finally figured out that they can do the same thing with the Coyote, but the go-to power plant for my generation of hot-rodder is still always whatever the latest LS is.
