Description

He had been seen at the baths since she was a little girl. The guards had tried to make him move on, tried to beat him into submission, and foolishly even tried to move him finding him as impossible to move as the stone statues outside. It had been told that he was a foreign god that had descended from the sky to petition the goddess Hauhet. He had never said as much, and few ever even asked him. Looking into his eyes, she could see they burned with a fire that was more literal than figurative, but they did not dance with life, just a sadness. She could see if for what it was. Loss. It wasn't even what ever infinite business a god could have, but loss that humans know so well. "How long will you mourn?" "Is mourning measured against the life lost or the life of the mourner?" Not inspired by anything in particular, the thought just came to me as I was building an image.
