Description

You know those four packs of poses I use to sell for M4 back in the day? Yeah, that was 8 years ago. Good Lord. I didn't realize it had been that long. Anyway, they're still in my store, and I was always kind of proud of most of them. So I thought to myself, "Self, there MUST be a way to convert old M4 poses to Genesis 8 male Daz without having to actually do the whole thing all over again. I want to use those old poses, but I am way too lazy to rebuild all that. What's a boy to do?" There doesn't seem to be any product or script you can buy that will do it for you. But it turns out, there is a way. I had to download M4 again and all those poses to get it to (kind of) work. So I downloaded him and all those poses from my store here, brought M4 into Daz, applied a pose (after searching and searching for it), and saved that back out as a pose setting. This converted it to a .duf file. Then I applied it to a Genesis 8 male figure, and once saved it back out as its own pose. Tedious. But a lot less tedious than rebuilding it. Oh, there was some adjusting that needed to be done of course. But it wasn't too bad. Truth is, they look better on M4 because I built it for the limitations of that mesh back in the day. But it's passable. I don't know if I'll ever get around to converting all, or even some, of them into Daz formats to sell again for Daz users. I learned that this is fun as a casual hobby, but if you get into it expecting to make real money, you're prolly gonna starve. That's my experience, anyway. So this was one of my favorite poses - the "Lie Back" pose from Needful Things. I think it was the promo picture, actually. Meh. Not as good this time around, but it kind of worked. More or less. Mostly less. Oh, but I did get inspired about Zbrush again. I bought that expensive program right before my work life changed and I had to give up rendering, so I never actually used it more than twice. No idea how to work it, but apparently I can download it to this machine from the website and the upgrade between my old version and this newest one is free. So I might try my hand mixing Zbrush and Daz together to see what I can do.

I used those poses a LOT because you understand how guys bend and I am not great at that--and I could always use yours for a starting point and then get a good secondary, natural looking pose out of it. I haven't seen any poses around that are as good as those were.

Conversion might be tedious but the results are rather nice.
