Description
"He parked the car and walked for 20 minutes or so, way out through the west field, with nothing but a vague memory of a small house and country store where he was born and raised. It was hot. He caught a shoe in an old barbed wire fence. He got over a small berm and saw it, shimmering in the distant heat . As he got closer, memories of this place started washing over him. When he reached what was left of the house, he stood in front of the broken door. He saw his mother in the doorway, smiling. He starting weeping. "Welcome home," she said.
Hope you like it.

Fantastic scene and great story!
Nightwind
What you have here is excellent, but given the story, it leaves me expecting a little more. Perhaps him standing by the door with his back to us, maybe only he sees his mother... Not trying to be picky, I just think it would give you a stronger image, but as I said what you have is excellent. I really like the golden fields against the sky colors.

Good points Nightwind. My idea here is to have a simple image that provokes a memory, really. The image is meant to allow your mind to populate that scene.

Very nice idea. The story calls for more!

You must have been reading my mind, I've been playing in the same field trying to find a sureal image. I was at a standstill after trying many different props, never thought of a wild west style house, lol. Great looking image... 🌟

The story, to start with : it's so true (when you know the wild West !) and moving...could be the first page of a captivating novel. The image : it's perfect, in my opinon...could be one of the photos like the ones I took, long ago, when I was roaming this so called wild West.
