Description
When all the printing gear was housed in this 'garage'.
I think I've already posted pictures of the actual printing - these show preparations, setting type, making corrections etc.
In the last image you can see my original small hand press in the background.
Printing was my major hobby (and later part-time business) since I was about 11.

Well! Those where the days, when printing was a real experts job (not like today where every body can fire up a DTP program and break all typographic rules). Awesome!!

You are a man of many parts.

Another way of working that has totally disappeared and of course cut many jobs!!!

There are still plenty of 'hobby' letterpress printers around. All the big type foundries are long gone, though.

Very interesting!

Great set of images that shows a great way of printing. I think people should learn how things were done pre-computer. If the electricity ever goes we are going to be in a world that doesn't know how to do much.

I'm sure some people would DEMAND all their wedding and special occasion invitations be hand-finished! I'm so destroyed that this fantastic skill has been sent to "the bench"!

It's great to see you in natural too (we the older semesters are doing still better than the younger ones) - Great captures (have a look at my new avatar)!
A_Sunbeam
A younger you - very nice!

Wonderful look into another part of the information age. And at the time; this was cutting edge information exchange technology.
