"...to deny my addiction and embrace that 'comfortably numb' but 'magicless' existence, or accept the burden of insight, take the road less travelled, and embark on the often painful journey to discover who I was and where I fit.” - Roger Waters - Pink Floyd
Gimp and IrfanView. Photo and png tubes. Content from pixabay.
The wall photo is mine, taken at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, Ohio.
eekdog's latest, and much cooler, Pink Floyd inspired render, reminded me of the photo I took, so I went searching through my files.
Thanks for looking!

Roger was a major bass player and song writer, glad you maybe saw some inspiration from mine. Awesome image with the words.

This is lovely...certainly drug use and its addiction have that numbing effect, but there are other addictions, avoidances that can have an often sought after numbing effect on a person...There are also sneaky external forces when used in repetition can have a numbing effect on people...It's how a person faces these addictions and forces that determines if one will realize their autonomy, worth.

The tortured existence of Pink Floyd...from the early problems of Syd Barrett's plunge into Depression, Drugs and Mental Illness the Crazy Diamond remained a touchstone through out the years for the band. The conflicting and Waring Ego's of Gilmour and Waters, it was a wonder they could produce anything yet able to produce some of the most Wondrous music in history.

I don't know well about that rock band. Your enthusiasm is transmitted from the image. The letters on the wall are so COOL!

A wonderful photo, Barb, and a great tribute to a legendary band.
We just lost another legend today, sadly...

Some of my favorite music and songwriters, both Waters and Gilmore! Dark Side Of The Moon got me started down the writing path, it's been a fun journey of ups and downs... ;)

(I hope you get notifications for comments, in your activity file or wherever) I'm going to try to catch up on a bunch of them, as your uploads always create such magic...So much has happened since I was last here (or since I communicated w/ you), it seems like it's been years...but maybe this image is relevant because the whole country seems to be coming out of a drugged stupor, evidenced by the 'storming of the bastille' that we all witnessed this week. It's getting to be like a movie. I think a good k-drama is called for right now (because they often have a feeling of magic and delicacy)...
I'm really amazed at how well the statue fits the imge, as a down and out man almost from the Depression, hunched over in front of those words. The music quietly ties it all together. And the man has a tint that works with the color of the wall behind him. A really fine montage of separate elements. I have to go look at Steve's work to see what you're referring to. (I've seen everything since I've been gone---I think---but I don't recall that one off hand.) I played jazz many years, and oh boy did it have addiction. I knew addicts personally, and watched a few die, and I know how heavy Waters' words are. Powerful montage, very well chosen and composed; and you got some very penetrating responses too...
