Description

Jorge, Red, Jake, Silo and Janax, one of Olivia's trusted guards leave her office to prepare Jake and Silo's spaceship for their journey. Janax controls the purse and doesn't allow any unnecessary purchases. He is quite knowledgeable about outfitting space ships since he also assists with Olivia's off-world enterprises. The days wear on and repairs to the spaceship are going well. The warp drive has been given a complete going over with all necessary repairs approved by Janax. He is also an excellent engineer and knows the ins and outs of most warp drive engines. About the third day into their preparations, they hear on the news that an ogre has escaped from maximum security and is on the loose. Immediately, Silo gets the jitters. He still is having difficulty talking from the trauma he received in the jail at the hands of the ogre! Janax makes sure his disrupter is fully charged and keeps it with him at all times. The preparations continue. The men seem to be working well together. Jake and Silo are doing more than their share of the work load which surprises everyone. The last load of supplies arrive and are stacked outside the spaceship. 'Lets break for lunch!' says Janax. 'I know this great little eatery you guys are just gonna love!' He is right. The food isn't fancy but has the best of flavors and the portions are man sized. They realize that soon, everything will be ready and they can begin their journey. After lunch, they have a few drinks and relax for the last part of loading. Jake and Silo lead the way back to the ship. Jake goes inside and makes room for the last of the crates. Silo starts up the stairs and is shocked to feel a steely grip on his leg! He lets out a blood curtling scream and Jake comes running. He immediately sees whats happening. The ogre has been hiding under their entry stairs waiting for Silo and now has him in his grip. 'Brute still want pretty boy for lunch!' he growls and starts pulling Silo down the stairs by his leg. 'Help me, Jake! Help me!' screams Silo. 'Pretty boy will taste plenty good!' growls the ogre as he pulls Silo down some more! Janax hasn't been far behind the guys and when he sees whats going on, immediately springs into action. His disrupter is set for stun so he gives the ogre a few shots. None of them seem to affect him, he sets it higher and higher but still with no noticeable affect. This ogre has only one thing on his mind! Silo dinner! Janax is left with no other choice. He sets his disrupter on maximum knowing it will likely do some damage to the ship. He aims, pulls the trigger, emitting a power ray and watches as the ray collides with the form of the ogre. Seconds later, the only thing left of the ogre is some vapor wisps floating up into the sky. Jake pulls Silo into the spaceship and drags him over to the couch. Silo is in total shock now and is non-responsive. Janax alerts the spaceport paramedics and soon two medis arrive at the ship to administer to the now comatose Silo. They treat the burn wound on his leg from Janax's blaster and administer a few drugs to help Silo rest. They tell Jake he needs to let Silo rest a few days. They will check in on him every so often to see how he is doing. 'Just give us a call if you need any further assistance between our visits.' says one of the medics. 'You can use your ship to shore intercom to reach us.' Jorge and Red have been waiting outside the ship so as not to get in the way. Red looks at the side of the ship where Janax's disrupter hit the ogre. 'This will set us back awhile.' he trills. M4, DAZ droid and ogre from warhammer 40,000 characters. Rendered in Poser 2014 pro. Those pesky orcs are always messing things up. Looks like this one's career is over, though.

Great page, Bill! Looking forward to more!
