Silo shows some improvement after his shocking experience at the hands of the late but not great ogre, Brute. Thanks to Janax's quick actions, he is still alive. He is still suffering a lot of trauma and it didn't help with is difficulty with speech, but with the spaceport medics watching him closely and the meds at their disposal, they are getting him back to a more normal condition. Sadly, his beautiful hair has suffered the worst. Unless you like the pure white color it has now become. Wonder if it will ever get back to the lustrous brownish red it used to be. Well there is always hair color. LOL. No I shouldn't kid about such a serious subject. The blast from Janax's disrupter that vaporized the ogre did some serious damage to the hull of the spaceship. It took an extra week to make proper repairs to that alone, pluse the intricate wiring and plumbing that was directly behind the hull in line with the blast. But as was indicated earlier, Janax is a skilled engineer along with his many other talents and he quickly found a dependable crew. With a little extra monetay incentive from Olivia's purse, with her approval of course, they went to work on the repairs and got them accomplished at a record pace. Olivia stopped by a couple times to see how things were progressing. I think she really just wanted to see Jorge again and relive her former romantic past. She has really developed an attachement to the archaeoligist but she tries not to let him know it. Finally, everything is completed. Olivia stops by to bid everyone farewell. Janax isn't quite as upset with her assigning him to this detail as he has made some new friends at least in characters of Jorge and Red. He still is a bit leary of Jake and Silo, but what can you say of Silo. In his present condition, he isn't much threat to anyone. The course to the old archaeoligist's planet is entered into the ships navigation system. The guys all get aboard the spaceship and wave farewell to Olivia. Soon, they leave the atmosphere of the planet and engage the warp engine. It isn't the fastest drive by far but it is certainly more than adequate for their needs. Especially for a private craft. The first few days travel are uneventful but suddenly, the ships warning sirens engage and a tinny sounding warning lets them know there is potential danger ahead. Silo is sound asleep on the couch, still under the influence of meds. Jake rushes up to one of the pilot's chairs and Janax is close behind him. 'Oh oh!' says Jake! 'This doesn't look good!' 'What is it?' asks Janax as Jorge and Red look on. 'Just a minute. I'll bring it up on the screen in the large room so you can all see it! I am trying to plot a course around it right now!' 'Well, I'll be glad to help you in any way!' says Janax. He has flown several inter- planetary missions for Olivia over the years and is somewhat familiar with the space they are traveling through. 'I don't understand it!' says Jake. 'This super nova we are approaching isn't mentioned in any of our charts! I wonder what is going on up there?' 'We have been watching this area of space for the past 50 years and have noticed there has been increased activity in that sun, but we never expected it to erupt in our lifetimes!' says Janax. 'I only hope the nav system warned us in time to get out of the way!' 'Well everyone hand on to what ever you can. Strap Silo onto the couch so he isn't thrown around anymore. He has already been through too much. If we are lucky, we'll get through this and he won't even know what happened!' says Jake.
