This wasn't intended for the Gallery but it came out so good. Piece of fan art. Commander Cordelia Naismith from Shards of Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold. It's intended for a further image. One of four parts to be compiled into a fan art piece.

King Lear's Cordelia? Maybe not, but the lighting makes this stand out in the listings - great work!

The lighting is surprisingly simple. One spotlight high on the left, blue; one spotlight low on the right, magenta.

The lighting in this render adds such a moody feel to it! I like it! Sometimes those images we don't intend to show in the gallery...end up in the gallery, and for that, all of us viewers are happy! Excellent and so well done! :-)

Classic lighting, just as how it used to be done for promotional portraits of movie stars. The plain black background really helps. Even someone unfamiliar with the character will step back and be impressed due to the great portrait technique. Fine job!
