Description
After reviewing the progress of repairs on Jake and Silo's spaceship, everyone drifts off
in their own direction. Mude and Tale have rounds to make. Tale has a regular routine of
projects he has going at all times and likes to keep current on them.
Janax decides to stay and supervise the repairs to the spaceship, being the precise
engineer that he is. He wants to make certain no corners are cut or no technology is
placed in the ship he doesn't understand.
Jake and Silo head back toward their suites in the 'executive' section of the sleeping
quarters. They have become quite pleased with their accomodations. I mean who wouldn't
with all the amenities included in each suite and all the room service you could imagine!
So, Jorge and Red head off looking for a computer terminal. Mude told Red where to look.
The haven't gotten far from the entrance to the space docking area when the come across
a stash of 3 wheeled vehicles. 'Is it far to these terminals?' asks Jorge.
'Well, I don't know. Mude just gave me general directions. Perhaps, if I'm reading your
mind correctly, we should be safe and hop onto one of the modes of transportation?'
asks Red.
'You got it pal!' says Jorge. 'We are off to the races!' So Jorge jumps onto the drivers
seat and Red crawls into the box behind the driver. It doesn't take long before they are
scooting up and down the corridors in search of a likely terminal. It doesn't take long
before they find what they are looking for.
'Yes, this one looks much like the one Mude described to me.' trills Red. 'It should
server our purposes just fine.'
They pull up beside the stairs leading into this commanding looking terminal and are
soon plugging away researching the data banks of the ships extensive resources. The
more Jorge searches, the more dumbfounded he becomes. This ships data bank is a treasure
trove with answers to so many archaeological mysteries, he can't begin to fathom them all.
It doesn't take long before he and Red are able to zero in on the query. It appears that
the makers of this ship were in the process of expanding their empire. They had expanded
their knowledge so much of all the fundamental rules governing everything that they were
able to advance their civilization to an incredible level of sophistication.
But their success came too quickly! With all their success also came an enormous pride in
their abilities. They thought they could conquer the entire universe. They had many
successes as they started the expansion. Then they came across the species Jorge was
looking for. They didn't realize it at the time but this species was far more advanced
than they were.
This species played with them for awhile, allowing them to think they were winning
battles and gaining territory. But this species was in the process of evolving themselves.
Just as it looked like the invaders were going to win it all, Jorge's ancient species
achieved transcendance. They evolved into pure spirits.
As spirits, they were able to travel anywhere and do almost anything. In essence, they
became gods. Their first act of kindness, well, I suppose the invaders probably didn't
think it was kindness, was to shut down the invaders completely. They overran all the
invaders spaceships and ground encampments and spread a disease that wiped them all
out. All their plans of conquest were squashed in a single afternoon of play for the
species Jorge was researching. This rid the universe of a bad virus, so to speak, that
the invaders had become. They needed to be eradicated.
But the ancient species didn't wipe out the invaders technology. They left it where it
was. Since the ancient species was no longer earth bound, they all left their home
planet and are now free spirits in the universe. In fact, they have been watching Jorge
make progress on their story and have even been helping him along unknown to him.
But that is for a later part of the story.
