In the Lotherplace University of Magic, Potions and Sorcery (generally known as Lumps) students are encouraged to experiment, so that new spells and potions can be added to the Corpus of Wizardrie. Such experiments do not always go as the students plan or hope, with at best, wasted materials and at worst death. Most students survive and learn from their errors. This version is intended to be 'realistic' suggesting a dark laboratory in one on the university's ancient study buildings. Such laboratories are deep underground and can contain massive destructive forces without damaging the campus.
