Description

This scene kept crashing the program. I wasn't out of memory or anything. But! I got it to render, and it rendered dang fast. Then i took it into GIMP with the intention of making it look like a classic Pulp Fiction-type movie poster. Did I manage it? I'm still learning about filters. It was fun to set up. If anyone asks for it, I may post the full-color version as well. I don't really like to double-post the same image very often, though I know I've done it a few times lately. One goal here was to get bendy with Spacegirl 2020. This is a VERY bendy pose. I can assure you, that it still looks good all the way around, too. For post work, I applied a gothic-style LOMO from beuatify, then used the Old Photo filter built into GIMP, and then back to beautify to swap it to black and white. I compared this with doing the B&W phase only and this way it turned out nice and crisp. Lighting is all HDRI, plus the meshes that lit up when I applied the 3DL to Iray converter to them. I found the water looked better with it's original shader, so I left that alone. In the suit, we got Jax for Eva 8, minus her mats. I loaded the DEV LOAD G8F and applied her shape that way, to save on memory. With those big set pieces, I wanted to take every advantage I could get. Up top: Chameleon Rose 2 from Zoro_D, along with her sideswept hair, and wearing the "Burning Girl" outfit from Daz Studio. We have the Tropical Resort and Tropical Lagoon sets giving us the environment, with the sky from the "iray skies" set. And finally, "Alien Guard" looking quite menacing as he towers above the trees. No joke, the day Chameleon Rose 2 appeared in the Freebie section, I had the original in my cart. I just wish I could credit freebies the way we do paid content! I do try to always mention the freebies used, at least. Zoro_D's Chameleon Rose Biker outfit is still one of my all-time favorites. I just might do a render with it on one of my all-time favorite models in the next day or so... Hmmmmm... The way the scene looks in a filament render has given me some ideas I want to explore, in regards to using filters. The rather drastic color change as opposed to iray has inspired me to try something. I wanted to do a filament render of the scene, but the program crashed again and I decided to go for iray and be happy when it finally worked after the third program load. It rendered in about 30 minutes, and did not max out the memory on the video card, so I have no idea what caused the crash

This is freeeekin' cool ! 'Bendy,' = Mission accomplished. If there was "Pose of The Year" Awards you would be in the competition. As to mood, you captured something great. I would say this looks like WW II film footage from the battle for the South Pacific. Who knew you were a War Corespondent back then. . Well done.

As to posting the color version...DON'T. It would just be embarrassed by this one. .

Awesome and surprising! I did not expect this at all...

Looks great all round, and as for the Spacegirl set, thanks for getting "extreme" with it; I keep harping on about it, I know, but with the amount of time I spent getting it right, it's nice to see it taken advantage of!

The image certainly captures that 50's/ 60's style of promotional material, the only thing that would make it more "commercial" would be the addition of some cheesy film or book title in an over the top font style. Beautiful work my friend!
