When you add a layer which has a lighting effect, a glimmer or reflected light, select the "Screen" blend mode, not "Normal". You could add the effect one more time... over the existing effect because it will be brighter and cover it up entirely.

Thank you. The reflection in the sword is not made with Daz: it's a Gimp effect and I faded it a lot.
