Description
Just over two years' ago I put up myoriginal version of this illustration.
However, recent items that appeared on the Daz market place annual PC+ sale inspired me to create this version, which I feel is closer to some of the beggar children I have encounterd, especially in the late 1940's and 1950's. I hope you approve.
One of my all time favourite songs contains these two verses which inspired this illustration
I remember the back streets of Naples:
Two children begging in rags
Both touched with a burning ambition
To shake off their lowly-born tags, they tried
So look into my face, Marie-Claire
And remember just who you are
Then go and forget me forever
But I know you still bear the scar, deep inside
(Where do you go to my lovely - Peter Sarstedt 1969

Amazing song - I know it but I've never really paid that much attention to the lyrics - and wonderful depiction of it.
