Description
It was the eruption of the Sunset Crater Volcano around 1085 that forced the farming community called Sinagua to abandon their homes and look for new ones that wouldn't be under a blanket of ash and other volcanic materials. credit is from foreverhungry.net

This is really interesting. It seems upheavals of our Mother, keep us on the move and keep us moving forward. We ourselves are not immune. I wonder how we will fair when our time comes?

Nice photo. Sorry development for the survivors of that catastrophe, having to move to new country. Such hardships to endure!

As soon as the volcano quieted down they came back, though, because volcanic ash really improves the fertility of the soil. My first archaeological field work was not far from there, at Honanki Pueblo.

Great shot of the ruins, Richard! Very detailed and sharp.
I guess every age has its challenges. They had a volcano, we have a pandemic.
