After days of traveling between congressional meetings, fighting battles for Celapaleis and being on the road they were finally back in Athlum. The group held a quick debriefing in the throne room before they disbursed. David informed his generals that he would be retiring to his quarters in the event they needed him for an emergency. He hadn't been in the room for more than ten minutes when there was a rap at the door. One of the guards was summoning him for a matter that needed his attention. "Tell them I will be there momentarily once I've attended to a personal matter," he replied to the guard, who saluted him and hurried on his way. David closed the door behind him and leaned up against it with a sigh. All he wanted was a little peace and quiet and a warm bath. Maybe, if he hurried he could steal a few moments with them. --- A little bit of fan service while I work on texturing his coat for my real projects. Here's a little background for those unfamiliar. Lord David Nassau, the young Marquis of Athlum, inherited the throne and the remnant Gae Bolg after his fathers death, a consequence of utilizing the remnant. At first he was angry about his fate, but over time he came to terms with it and now strives to continue the benevolent rule of his father and to gain Athlum its independence from the sovereign state of Celapaleis.
