Description

Eighteen hours of rendering. WORTH IT! Lol. Overdue, but here it is. A render utilizing the very cool ISP Bahnhof from brain 1969! I've been stupidly busy this month, trying to complete NaNoWriMo, getting a room ready for a houseguest, cleaning cleaning cleaning... And trying to keep up with posts with the current website difficulties Pretty much any render time I've had, I've been more or less doodling, or rendering just to keep skills sharp, or creating characters for a TTRPG that doesn't even start for another month or so. I've sat down with ISP Bahnhof several times, but nothing seemed to click. Until day before yesterday. Lightly inspired by one of brain's renders, I had this idea of two lovers perhaps utilizing the privacy offered by the cloudbanks to re-affirm their affections. Unfortunately, I crashed the software on my first attempt. Even more sadly, I hadn't saved my work! (Save early, save often!) Yesterday I gave it another go. One warning. This set is huge! I don't think that's why it crashed - I was running a dforce simulation on Bad Girl Dress. (I decided to avoid the dress just in case, on the second attempt.) So. On to some details. We've got Diem. We've got Uchenna. We've got no additional lighting installed. This is pure environment/scene lighting that comes with the set. As you can see, even though they are tucked way back in a corner, they are still lit up pretty well. I could have increased the lighting a little bit - Uchenna almost disappears, but I figure two young lovers would prefer the shadows. Poses are from Aeris19. I used Twizted Reflections on both of them, and Twizted Eyes MR on Uchenna. Not that its terribly visible, but it did make a little difference. And its those little details that make ALL the difference, right? Sorry it took me so long, brain! I hope you like it!

not sure if the gray left side of this image was intended or not. but all I can view from phone or desktop I about 1/3 of it on right only. part of girl chatting on left is hiding behind gray wall? dang, long render time. I would not have the patience.

That is intended. Hence the title, "voyeur." The viewer is catching a glimpse of something they perhaps shouldn't. Thanks for looking!

Nice work. Interesting composition, and quite brave... I can't bring myself to leave half a render clear of detail, I'd be struggling to find things to put in the space. Which would ruin it...

It was a gamble, to be sure. I decided the view of the voyeur was the right call, so I hope I was right to make it.

On the technical note, It is a big set but I have had no problem with it crashing a system. I have noticed that the render times are a bit irrelevant for me. By that I mean, i achieve a high degree of convergence in the first 1/2 to a full hour of rendering. Greater than 90+%.

Now the remaining convergence can take significantly more time, as you suggest. For monitor screen views of already lossy .jpg's there is no significant difference to my eye that justifies the additional render time. Now maybe if you were going for a 'print quality image' you would have to accept the additional time required. But you would never use .jpg as a file output format. As far as I know. 'osity requires we submit in .jpg, so i just blow it off and pull it to post after i get above 90%.

I would be interested in knowing your hardware config and OS environment. I suspect you are experiencing a lack of hardware resource as opposed to 'brain1969's environment. In the end though, I would agree that 'brain1969' bigger sets will definitely tax systems that are entry level / mid level boxes that are not set up to be render potatoes. Sorry for blathering on. It's the old Engineer in me coming out...

BTW, your POV is quite interesting. And Yes, ISPBahnhof is just chok full of office revelry and grab-a3$ from what I hear.

I save to a .tif, then convert to jog for 'osity. I also now render at leask 2k, but generally 3,000 pixels high.

It took a long time to hit 1%. But it was never rendering on the CPU. It took a long time to lose the graininess, even whwn it was something 24%

I don't believe its the set, though. I believe I'm overdue for a reinstall of my system. I'm kinda putting it off lost past time, actually. The goal is to build a new PC 1st quarter of 2021, and build it as a dedicated render box.

Thanka for looking, and the feedback.

This is nice work. It does convey the idea of somebody spying on two people who thought they were alone.

Sounds too complicated for me! 18 hours eh? And this is the result. I could never..... well, lets just say, if it takes over half an hour, I cancel. Nice start though.

Lol, thanks. I'm patient, I guess. Plus, I got books to read when the computer is busy! I'm hoping to build a new machine this next year, just for rendering, and then I'll be able to switch between the two and play games while the render machine is busy. Hopefully when I'm ready I'll be able to pick up a nice RTX card for the purpose.

Thank you. I'm glad it's been so well received, despite the choice to have the majority of the render be a grey featureless wall.
