Description

I had trouble with this image because I wanted the distant mountains (which are way in the back of the environment) to have haze but not the forward terrain that wraps around the scene from left to right. I cheated and layered a premium render with no haze over a super fine render with haze and erased the parts needed to achieve my results. I feel bad about that but it's still all Bryce. Horo gave me some great suggestions that I tried but in the end all my terrains were just too far from the camera to get the haze effect that I wanted.

It might not have come out as you wished but it is nevertheless a beautiful render. Higher up in the mountains you often get dry and very transparent air and get the impression far parts are much nearer.

Don't feel bad, this is an excellent job. I too use gimp to merge two "not quite" renderings to get the qualities I want. For example, Vue can only render one sun at a time. Thus if your world has two suns or more then each has to be rendered separately and then added together.

Thanks. It's just that I thought that I remembered Bryce being so easy but I'm having such a hard time getting good scenes. I see now that it's a lot more work than I remember, lol.
