Description

So, again, following a David Brinnen YouTube video, this one on making a forest. I tried rendering this as regular but too pixelated. I then rendered as premium (think 16 rays and 4 max depth) and it was so bad it looked like it hadn't finished rendering but I got the end screen. Took a few hours. I then went with super fine. Oh my, 8 hours to render. Ok, so let's add a plane. I don't have one...darn. Ok, let's add a helicopter or stingray. The textures looked awful. Ok, let's add some clouds. Really slowed the render time even more. I give up. This is my bare bones attempt at a forest. Not going happen again if I don't have to. Why am I posting such a boring picture? Because it took 8 hours to render and I'm not wasting that time. Think that I'll play Tomb Raider for a while and take a break.

Nevertheless, it came out very nice. Are you sure you have not set render priority to low? I think 8 hours are a bit excessive. Nevertheless, the result is worth it and I don't find it boring.

That is so nice to say Horo, thank you. It really was a difficult one to do. The terrain that makes the trees had to be 2048 so that I got trees and not flat spots that looked like snow. This is the best I could do. I sunk the terrain a bit because the trees took over the scene. Priority was on normal. When I used Premium I had blurry reflections and blurry transmission on. Would that have caused the image to look bad? The distant water was full of noise when the premium finished.

The scene needs that bit of interest because it's so plane. Thanks!
