Description
I just acquired another player for my Steampunk/Gothic/Fantasy TTRPG game. He pilots a Steam-powered mech.
I call these 'mechs "Black Cauldrons" and the pilots, "Cauldron-Born." (GRIN)
They were used in the last Great War. My player's grandfather was a Cauldron-Born, and when he passes he leaves his grandson the location where he hid his Cauldron. As our hero's story begins, he's been repairing the Cauldron over the last several years, and is one piece away from having it fully functional. All he needs, is a "Steam Wisp."
A Wisp is a class of sprite, of a lower order than a pixie. (One other player has an incorporeal Steam Pixie as part of his power matrix, He's a Steamborg.) Our Cauldron-Born-to-be is given a lead as to where he can find a Wisp, bringing him to the frontier town of Dusty Hollow, where the other players are slowly gathering.
As we were setting up, he asked if he would have an assistant. Besides having the Black Cauldron, he is also an engineer. I determined it made sense for him to have an assistant. So, enter Scarlet Haze. She will also act as a field medic. In engineering, her specialty is delicate work. I rolled some dice to determine that she's a marksman with a long gun. Basically, she is good with fine-detail stuff. Personality-wise she is fairly reserved and is often found reading a book.
I may have also used the character to justify purchasing the new "artificer" outfit. Lol.
It isn't the fanciest render, but it rendered in two-and-a-half minutes. I'm happy about that! For an NPC portrait, it works well.
She is Giada for Aiko 8, Arwen hair, and the artificer outfit. Rifle is Cybertenko's Steam Rifle Ultimate Construction Kit. Using a pretty basic Terradome 3 for the environment. I'm thinking of going back in and adding some scrub brush and other stuff to dress it up a bit more. I like the character a lot, (She's fun to RP. I use her to get revenge for his shenanigans.) so I might as well and ramp up her portrait. Right?
