Description
I have no idea what I rendered this in. It may have been Poser pro 2007. Photo edited in Photoshop Elements. And Rendo admins, for why you no have a gallery category for I-Don't-Know-What-This-Is?
Here's a golden oldie from the wayback machine, coming from 2007. I'm surprised I still have a copy of this. The story behind this is fairly simple. I used to be a night watchman, on 12 hour shifts and wow, it was dull. Dee You Ell Ell, dull. The building was 23 stories of empty. The only creepy part was worrying about getting jumped by a hobo in the parkade. OK, the railings were all greased so that wasn't likely, and our hobo's generally are the ones getting jumped. So, no excitement there. There were two hotels, one on either side of us that towered up higher than us. People would toss stuff down from the top floors, so that got interesting, then they got arrested. People tend to toss themselves off too, but they don't get arrested for obvious reasons. One of the elevators broke (cables all snapped at once) and dropped me 11 stories in no seconds flat. I lived and went home early and got drunk. 5 minutes into my beer at a local Boston Pizza (It's a Canadian restaraunt, go figure) I was hit on by a lesbian. I'm still not sure what to think of that. We got broke into once during shift change and no one got their head staved in with crowbars so that went well.
OK, Dull with occasional seconds of excitement.
I think the building got turned into condo's.
ON the PC front, the drive I have Daz installed to is acting up, so I haven't been doing any renders. I def need a new PC, and then the fun job of reinstalling everything there. Again.
And on the local COVID front, the province of Alberta is now Ranked the 5th highest in the world for new daily cases. Lovely.
ALBERTA Stats:
20,161 Active cases
+1,738 Cases on Dec. 10 (down from +1834 cases the day before)
684 In hospital
123 In intensive care
684 Deaths
WEAR A DAMNED MASK! Thanks you, that is all.

Nice work, old or not...
Another reinstall? Damn.... I'd be pulling the cat's hair out (mine's already too sparse to bother with). I'm pretty sure he wouldn't like that.
Madbat
I could never do that to my kitty. But as far as external drives go, my Seagate is still going strong but it's almost full. I made the mistake of getting a MyBook. What a piece of junk.

Time keeps on slipping in to the future.
Great looking steampunk work, the timekeeper seems a bit bored standing there.
Stay Positive and test Negative.

Super !

Excellent work and an interesting narrative. Just to let you know, I'm scheduled to go into surgery at 6 am Monday the 14th. I just got that call today. Old plumbing gone, new plumbing in.
Madbat
Oh good luck with that, and may you never need any more of that hospital shennannigans!

A problem with a mybook, say it isn't so, lol. I would say a Dell desktop will serve you much better. Cool image... 🐉
Madbat
It lasted 2.5 months

Dang nab.... Sounds like you must be one hellofa riot to hang out with, bro! Nothing boring when the bat's around.... 🤣 Hey, it could be worse... We could send you Trump... No..... That would be just tooooo wrong...
Hmm... I was thinking about getting one of those MyBook NASs... May have to think that over a bit more..
Hey, still looks good for an oldie, my friend! You've been messin' with this even longer than me. I didn't get into this insanity - uh, I mean art-form, until 2009.
Keep on keepin' on, buddy!
Madbat
Yeah avoud the mybook series of drives like the plague itself. I may grab another seagate at some point.

Amazing !

I love the light coming through the opening and your impatient character. Wonderful expression and pose for her.
11 stories!?! All at once!?! Glad you are still here! Yikes!
Madbat
Yup, I was floating in freefall. That's an unsettling feeling.
Madbat
That light ray is photoshopped, it's not hard to do. Believe me it will save you a LOT of render time.

Amazing steampunk composition and superb character, wonderful image!

A cool scene. Good pose. It does look boring but I don't think I'd recommend the elevator free-fall. Yikes! I'm glad you survived that.
DM
Fantastic scene and great expression on her! Excellent work! :)
madame
Wonderful and very original scene, great pose and lighting effects... cool work !!

Great to hear from you and a fun image to post. It is very interesting to see the earlier works of folks here. Especially those works that were never published for one reason or another. Yeah, we're doing lousy in our Covid-19 response. There are way to many STUPID people who try to make up for being STUPID by being STUBBORN. I'm going to start a series of renders called: Things We Are Going To Put Up Your Azz If You Don't Wear A Mask."
romangirl
Interesting words and great scene!
