man, you couldn't have captured Ute's art better if you tried...of course, she has many styles, but this is one of them, and you got it to a tee. The characters, her inimitable light, the colors, the sense of traditional (probably late 19th C.) costume, the sense of ceremony, yet cheer and warmth, the ever-present children in play and glee. A delightful, very interior image (in the sense that it feels like a warm interior, a room warm with the glow of the holiday). Your use of a strong red background---it's in the carpet and chairs too---gives this a very 'interior' feeling...while the golden light sets it off like little jewels. A touching scene, very much of the holidays, and perfect for Ute who's one of our most consistently inventive and creative artists. Happy Birthday Ute, and many more! Wonderful work, Barb. It's a true homage, with 'you' written all over it...
