Description

Good morning to you my friends! Do you remember that free to use image background that I offered yesterday? So, here is what I did with it. As I said, I paint things for practice and you get stuff to play with or use as a reference. I had hand painted this suggestion of trees, or clouds, since it was abstract, it could be whatever to thought it could be! And on Saturday I'd offered it as a free image. This is what I envisioned that I wanted to do with it. But, I'd like to see what your imagination has in store! You are welcome to give it a go... Anyway, I'm offering many free images and clip-art images, for free, most of it I've hand painted. Anyway, God bless you for all for your wonderful support you've given me over the years. It's your kindness and encouragement that keeps me painting and creating scenes like this. And I do hope you all have a wonderful holiday season ahead, and an even better coming new year! Take care!! ♥ Painted in acrylic by Artist Dan Seitzinger - danseitzinger.com - Website for Free-2-Use Images: social.deartomyheart.com

I have been gone for a while, but I see you are still painting landscapes.

I think you have come a long way. This does not seem over-saturated at all, and has a really beautiful effect where the light at the center makes it impossible to make out the branches of the leaves.

The color scheme of most of the painting is blue-fuscia-grey, with very whispy strokes that are not saturated at all.

This is not a combination of colors you would expect to see in a forest, and it takes some guts to spread it all over your canvas like this. It creates a very magical sort of atmosphere that I really dig. My main complaint is that you seem to have still been afraid of really going for it, and put some greens and browns on the bottom with saturated brush strokes.

For me, this painting works better if you remove the bottom quarter of it, just cutting it off at the horizon. It almost looks like two different paintings attached there anyway.

I wrote a substantive reply, only to have my reply disappear, so very strange! So, I'll make this sort and sweet. Thank you for your complement and critique. I don't get that much on other social sites. Of course, I know that this painting is not realistic, or even an attempt at using realistic colors. I was more focused on the light here. Using complementing colors, not trying to be realistic, in my choice of colors. I do love natural or realistic color schemes though. I know that there are some who aren't into saturated, or non-natural colors. I've just noticed from my own experiences, that I have gotten much more comments and positive response to bright, or overly colorful postings, for some reason... Maybe, if it was attempting realism, that would be understandable, actually it's a necessity! I know there are some much better artists than I am, and there work looks almost like a photograph. But, I'm more impressionistic work. It's more about bright colors and bright light, not so real. Also, I haven't had a formal artistic training. Never whent to art school, I was self taught, Autodidactism, which maybe is why I don't paint with the proper colors, or detail. I'm still learing about how to paint, and will hopefully get better at more contemporary, or natural landscapes. I do love looking at the old masters though! So, I know that if done correctly, it's a beautiful work! Don't know if I can ever get that style, since I'm still learning, or, self learning, really. I'm refering to past artists, like Albert Bierstadt, or Thomas Cole and others whom painted luminous masterful works. Those who attented the Hudson River School. Anyway, Happy Holiday's and New Year to you!! ♥ Danny
