I'm really struck by the gold and silver-white on black, in this image. It has a jeweled feeling (gold and black are so regal and classy). Basic elements of new year celebration---champagne glasses, the popped cork, the clock, the fireworks, the deep dark end of year sky...and the woman is dressed in stunning black with equally striking black hair (and eyebrows, and, it appears, eyes). I really like the stark contrasts, they bring real clarity to the celebration. (The tall champagne glass---with a slight inward taper on top---was supposedly developed to keep some of the drink's bouquet and bubbles inside, unlike the broad 'open' champagne glass, which invites us to revel in its bubbles and fragrance. W/ the tall version, you can only sip it, as the other rim will hit your nose if you tip it too much...an invitation to a 'delicate drink experience'...I say that as one who isn't a great champagne-lover, though I know people who just adore it; I missed that gene somewhere, because I wish I loved it the way some do.) A very high contrast jewel-like new year's image, and the popping bottle is great. You used black beautifully here. (Happy new year, lol---I'm only 27 days late!)
