Description
Why nonsensical?
Well, you can see 30 women in the picture in partly different poses, with different hair and different clothes. In the picture they are not doing anything, they are just standing around. They don't even talk among themselves. Do women more often than men.
In the background are 7 uniforms. Why they are standing there I don't know exactly. Additionally, there are 2 cars in the foyer of the building. I can't explain how they got in. In any case, the access doors are too small. The whole picture is staged in front of and inside a building.
The picture is nonsensical, but not illogical. It is a test of my computer system.
I have repaired resp. upgraded it. Repaired or exchanged was a 64GB kit RAM from Kingston. In this kit one bit was defective, it could only '0' not '1', or vice versa. This caused a blue screen to appear frequently. Mostly in the middle of an unsaved step.
Kingston gave me a credit, I could buy a new kit RAM.
In addition, I installed a new drive for the operating system. Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB.
In summary, the system now has the following data:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Intel Core i9-7900X CPU @ 3.30GHz, 128GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TI, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 TI, Cooling: Noctua Dual Tower Cooler NH-D15
For test:
Set:
No low-poly figures or elements were used. So an accumulation of polygons that is unparalleled.
The finished scene takes a total of about 17 min to fully build and for edit in the view port. The finished scene increases the working memory to 44GB. From this you have to subtract about 5GB base load of the system. The scene itself has about 39GB.
It's amazing that in this scene you can still work relatively easily, move figures, change them, insert new elements. So just keep editing. Maybe this is due to the new SSD. It only has the PCIe Gen. 3 x 4 interface. So no bus connection. Also, all DAZ Studio content is stored on c:\. So not to be fed via a bus connection either.
Rendering:
I turned on the CPU, GPU and secondary GPU for the rendering process. Without CPU, rendering was restarted after about the 20th iteration. This no longer happened with the additional use of the CPU.
For the rendering process, I tried overclocking the CPU by 36%. This attempt failed miserably because of the cooling. Temperatures of up to 105°C. set in on individual cores. So I took back the overclocking. Core temperatures during rendering thereby 62 - 75°C.
Load data:
CPU 100% performance, RAM 104GB workload, SSD 50°C., GPU RTX... 50°C. Memory 4.9GB, GPU GTX... 38°C. Memory 2.7GB.
Render time: 3h 18m at 5850 iterations (97%).
Image size: 16 x 9, 2000 x 1125 pix.
Resume:
I am not really satisfied with the performance of the Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB. I'll have to check if it can't be set better in the bios. The performance benchmark shows best results, but the implementation in the system is not satisfactory.
As a comparison, I can only think of: "It's as if you can't get the high performance of a car onto the road".
I would be very grateful for tips, hints and experience reports on such an SSD.
Cheers.

NONSENS, was ist denn eigentlich Nonsens lieber Werner?

LG. Werner

Well, this is getting on my nerves! Pushing the boundaries. Is it nonsense? Is it realism? If only LInda Nochlin were here to guide me. Wait until Roy LIchtenstein hears about this!!
(Nothing beats a powerful system!)

I'm afraid I don't use Windows, so I can't give you any advice about your computer. This picture is nicely done, though!

Thank you.
