Very lovely work as always. I am always struck by the complexity of the formulas at work here. I do have a question now? Is the lighting that occurs part of the fractal or do you have to apply lights to the fractal.

No, lights are not a part of the fractal ... All lights placement you do after fractal created. it is all up to you, how you'll place your light sources across fractal.
