I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

Not my family, they look too cool for mine.
LyleAryn
Lol. I can't even remember the last time mine bothered to do a family portrait.

excellent group

Thank you! I was pretty impressed that it rendered as fast as it did.

Thanks! I like how it turned out myself.

Fantastic looking trio! It's wonderfully done, sorry for not commenting earlier!

Thank you. No worries - I'm not exactly keeping up myself. Though I am trying to go in and get like/faves done!

Great character design, both in the description and the art.

Thank you. It's an interesting bunch. Should be really cool to see what happens when the players get all together. I did this thing with my Steampunk campaign where I rant though some one-on-one stuff ahead of the first session in order to integrate the characters into the world, and do something more interesting than the old "So you all meet in a tavern." The GM of the superhero game is one of my players, and he liked that so much he's doing it to launch his campaign, too. Nebula has been a lot of fun so far.

Nicely done. Hope you'll have more fun playing them.
LyleAryn
Indeed! Should be curious to see how it all comes together. One of the other players is playing a vampire (Not the one pictured here.) and the third player is playing a character with "Balance Wishing" which just sounds interesting, even if I"m not entirely sure how that's going to work out.

Thanks, Nobby!

Fabulous trio....wonderful lighting, love the strong bold contrasts between light and dark, top class image and render...!!
LyleAryn
For sure. I think the "infinity cove" from this Volumetirc lighting studio set thing is the most useful prop I've ever purchased. Makes setting up a portrait pretty fast, and never seems to crush my render performance. I don't think I've used the actual volumetric prop from it yet, lol.

Very nice! Better than most of my family portraits, but then I have a face like a bag of spanners...
LyleAryn
At least the spanners are in a bag...
Seriously though, I'm sure your face is just fine, because its attached to a nice person.

A very interesting set of characters. Well done on their development. Also a. very interesting backstory.
LyleAryn
Oh yeah, for sure. Going to be a blast. My character is actually an alien, lol. Not that she knows it yet. I've been trusted to play an interesting character.
