Te souviens-tu de nos ballades en forêt, où je t'emmenais quand tu étais enfant ? Ta petite main cherchait sa place dans la mienne, plus grande et plus ridée, pour que nos pas aient la même allure. La forêt était mon grand livre de contes, dont tu ne manquais pas de quémander, à chaque fois, une nouvelle histoire. Il était une... je ne sais plus combien de fois, aujourd'hui ; c'est devenu un trésor que tu as recueilli. Chaque éclat de lumière à travers les frondaisons en est devenu une pièce d'or dans tes souvenirs. Il suffit, maintenant, qu'un rai de soleil vienne taquiner ta paupière pour que tout te revienne, les images, les sons, les odeurs ; l'histoire et sa musique peuvent commencer. C'est de ce bel arbre, qu'est né le bois du violon, pour qu'il joue juste. L'antilope, gardienne de la forêt, te l'a montré un jour, en heurtant le tronc de ses cornes pour donner le La. Désormais, c'est toi, devenue grande, qui joue de cet instrument, pour partager les largesses de son trésor. Ici, pas de métal, sonnant et trébuchant, propice aux jalousies et autres querelles, mais de purs instants, où l'on se sent heureux, en harmonie avec le grand livre de la nature. Tu le devines, si ta main vient à trembler sur l'archet, un petit oiseau viendra reprendre la mélodie du bonheur par ses pizzicati. Voilà, tu refermes un instant le livre de contes, tu le sais, tu le réouvriras, pour raconter les histoires qu'on t'a transmises ; il y a tant de petites mains qui se blottissent dans la tienne pour t'écouter.
