Description
Playing with Raffael that comes with Poser 11. No I don't have any clothes or additional textures so using what I have. I think it's a figure that has a lot of potential. Some things I'd like to see are lower eyelid shaping morphs. Almond shaping for the eyes. An eye size morph that affects the eyes only not the width of the face. Brow morphs. Eyes and brows are, to me, the biggest ways to change a characters looks. To move the brows up or down and more arch control. The hip crest needs an option to be moved down. The elbows need some smoothing. I'm no expert by any stretch. Just stating things I would personally like to see. Used the teen girl here and played with some dials on her face. Kind of sad to see there wasn't much for the figure in the marketplace. The options for so many figures make this very unique. I can't imagine the time it took to make this product!

What Poser needs now is a base figure with a realistic base body. By realistic I mean a body that can be conformed to a realistically scaled human skeleton and has contours that match the shape of the major muscle groups. One that reflects what a student of human anatomy learns in art school. This is a major effort and in my opinion would require collaboration with an art school to provide the necessary skills and knowledge. If this does not happen soon I fear for Poser's future because most artists and amateurs alike will desert to DAZ where such figures are available. I propose the Beach Bikini test. Put the figure in a thong bikini and put it into a scene of a beach volleyball game. If you can't single it out from the real figures you have a success.

Sadly agree. A lot of folks like myself don't have the skills or the software to take a poser figure and morph it into something more realistic. We need a Poser figure that is good out of the box. With lots of extra morph packages and more. I stick mainly to my toons and V4 because that is what I have the most of and can customize. I've looked at the new Poser figures and they are either not to my liking as far as shaping and there isn't enough content to justify buying stuff for the new ones. Most of the newer items for the new figures are also of course more expensive. So for me it's not worth investing in the new ones when you can only do several renders with them with a limited number of characters and clothing. If it was an awesome figure with tons of possibilities for characters I'd think differently.
