Description
Demeter was probably the most important Goddess of classical Greece, even if she doesn't figure as much in legend as Athena, Aphrodite and Hera. She tended not to be so concerned with the petty squabbles of mortals, as she was responsible for sacred law, the cycle of life and death and the harvest.
Her worship was widespread and persisted for around a thousand years. This was centred around the ritual of the Eleusinian mysteries, of which initiates where forbidden to speak of, on pain of severe censure and even death. Consequently, while we know of their existence, and that they were widely celebrated at the grand temple complex in Eleusis, historians have virtually no idea of what they actually entailed and they remain mysteries to this day.

Very well done. The spotlight on her, casting the shadow on the wall, adds a lot of depth to the image. I like the DOF but I can't help but wonder what it would look like if the foreground column was in focus.

You may be right... i did several versions of this and couldn't decide; I also wans't sure about the lace (but kept it for the interesting shadow) . I'll probably post some alternates on my DA gallery.

Legends are always too exaggerated and filled with lies but the reasons why legends arise are more impressive and the more truth is hidden in dark corners, that are not noticed in these legends! You did a good work, full of mind..

Awesome lighting and scene setup! Still shots are by far the most difficult for me do, as I am always second guessing myself on choosing just the right point of view for the shot. In still images you have only one try and that's it! You have a great eye for the small details that matter and always do a great job in all your scenes! Excellent work and we'll done! :-)
