Description

Hello Rendosians ! I hope you are all safe and in good health. This pandemic is hard on us all, especially for the weakest people. Psychologically speaking, people are more and more hopeless and waiting for better days to come is more and more difficult. Nevertheless, let's try to be positive : it's a time to take care of ourselves and our family members, and discover thousands of things we wouldn't have time to do. I played to the Monopoly game today with my husband (of course he won ; he always was a better strategist and trader than me) and I had the idea to take a picture of the game. The Monopoly game was invented in 1935 : it's difficult to imagine this game is so old and yet so topical. The simplicity of the rules certainly participates to the success it still has . For the French people, my picture would certainly be surprising as the name of the most expensive avenue of the game in the national edition is "Champs Elysées". I played on a limited edition located in my former hometown : Metz." Rue Serpenoise" is the commercial street of the center of the city ! Have a great and safe day, keep the faith in better days ! Hugs Virginie

A nice backstory to this photo. I have played this game more than a few times in my youth.

Monopoly game folks prints more play money than the all of the US mints prints dollars .

I have not played the game for probably 35 to 40 years ago. I got my first vaccination the other day and will return for the second soon. my younger sister (73) had covid19 but she survived living alone in a very cold place in Northern US.

I have plenty of time, but too bored to get busy and work around the house

Great photo! Very fun to learn about the French versions! Thanks for that!

1935! I didn’t know that. Wow. That’s a long-lived game. 🙂
