Description

I'm planning a series of illustrations of The (Quenta) Silmarillion. So a need a good balrog. This is what I've come up with so far. It's based on the Dephusa character for Ragbash the Troll. I think I'll need some more custom fire elements though. Any Suggestions would be very welcome! :)

I agree, the fire is quite good, and the texturing on the body is also fine. I think you need to rework the face a little bit considering the nature of this creature; he looks as though he is smiling a big happy smile, much too friendly. Maybe if you can work a bit of a snarl in there he will appear more menacing. Just a thought. Great job otherwise.

Well this is probably going to be Gothmog - Lord of Balrogs - who was armed with a black axe.. ;) ..yes, I suppose I'll have to make a Glaurung too! mlevans, - thanks, point taken about the grin (although it looks like a wicked grin to me.. ;) - I will sort it out. Thanks for the comments!
