Created 20190419: Gaea has always been one of my favorite Greek goddesses. As the personification of the Earth and the Mother of Everything Beautiful she is, for me, the embodiment of the living universe. She is the living spirit of the earth and weeps when we wound her with our thoughtlessness. We can live in harmony with nature or we can destroy it. Destruction, of course, would result in our own destruction. But Gaea is self-correcting and after we are gone will renew the living earth without us.
