this past Wednesday I had stopped to get a sandwich on my way home. I was already in my vehicle and was ready to leave. I seen a very new Dodge Crew cab pickup turn the corner which was not strange. however the police right on his tail was. the Dodge went behind the small shopping center and back to the main street with the police trying to stop him. I was on my way to a highway and about the time I got to the main street, another police came flying by. I seen the guy had parked behind a barbecue place. I imagine they had him on the parking lot face first. when I got down to the highway, another police was flying by. I turned away and onto the highway. I was wondering if the pickup was stolen. what do I mean? a truck being taken in the Dallas area? only probably 20-30 times a day(or per hour)! many are driven to the border and disappears never to be seen again. I use a steering wheel lock I bought in Las Vegas in 2001 after winning the BMW Z3 in a casino with $1.50 in the machine and a 50 cent maximum bet. locks do not prevent theft, but only discourage "honest" people and slowing them down Almost 10,000 vehicles were stolen in Dallas, Texas in 2018 — up 18% from the 7,934 auto thefts in 2017. Gone in three minutes – that’s how fast thieves are able to steal one of the most popular vehicles in North Texas. Police said criminals are targeting newer model GMC and Chevrolet pickup trucks, and authorities are having a hard time stopping the thefts.
