The planet Tau Ceti f orbits its home star in the habitable zone, but at 4.5 Earth masses, murderous conditions prevail on its surface. Its four moons are much more interesting. On the outermost moon, despite an atmosphere characterized by nitrogen, ammonia, and sulfur gases, higher life could develop. Because of this very sensitive ecosystem, this moon is strictly protected and can only be entered with a special permit. I had the opportunity to visit the moon and experience the beginning of a natural spectacle: The flower of the Sporianis Bulbo. From the biologist who accompanied me I learned that these stuck living beings with the glowing balls catch flying insect-like living beings and are apparently involved in their reproduction in this way. At the same time, Sporianis Bulbo feeds on these insect-like creatures.
