Description

Done for a DAZaholics weekly feature on DA. The Moirae, or fates, of Greek myth. Clotho who with her wheel spins the thread of life, Lachesis who measures its length and shrouded Atropos who cuts it.... Tthe most frustrating image I've ever tried in DAZ by a country mile - literally days spent fixing randomly exploding Dforce drapes, iray rendering everything as a blank black square (so resinatlling Nvidia drivers - to little avail) , DAZ hanging and crashing on a regular basis (so reinstalling DS4.15 to no avail) ... must have taken at the very least 30 iterations of this scene, and its still not lit the way I wanted... and its not the biggest or most complicated scene I've tried, so I'm at a loss to understand whats going on unless its just the latest iteration of DAZ is buggy.

It doesn't matter Joe, I am following your reinterpretation of myths with great interest. The mysteries of the programs remain intact, I sometimes encounter similar problems with the Poser cloth room.

I am a big fan of mythological themes and this is very well done. There are certain lighting and camera setups that will cause Daz to crash on rendering or exiting a render. I always save before test rendering. Using the Iray view port does not have this problem. SInce it slows everything down, I use it to adjust textures and lighting and use the texture shaded view port for everything else. DForcing three outfits in one scene can be tough. If you are not already doing it, hide everything in the scene except the figure you are dforcing on. Dforce will include in it's calculations everything that is visible and that can slow things down or cause wierd results. You didn't say if you were on a Mac or a PC but just reinstalling the program may not fix problems. You need to completely remove all initialization files as well.

Fantastic work. Love a Greek Myth! Some people have definitely had issues with the latest Daz (according to forum chat) and dForce has always been a little tricky (well, for me, at least.) I tend to hide additional elements to run the drapes on each character. Don't know if it is the best way, but the dark arts of dForce are still beyond me!
