The texture effect does not quite capture the effect of brushwork which employed multiple colors and to a degree followed the contours of the surface. The hood has sharp edges but the eyes are fuzzy.

I agree. The old Oil paint filter in Photoshop was better than this new one. It's a shame. I very much debated letting go of the filter altogether, but it was rendered with that in mind and just looked strange without it :) (even stranger)

Beautiful. Love the effect
