I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

And here I thought you had channeled Andy Warhol.

Somewhere, Mr. Warhol is smiling! What a delightful '60's vibe going on here.. This is great! Now, see... I'd take something like this, make a poster out of it, and put it in the BG of a scene in my story, or just a single render.
I think it's a great thing to step out of the box every now and then and play with different styles and techniques. It keeps things fresh and exciting. In my case, I'm always mucking around with different filters, brushes, layer styles, etc. Even when I'm not just playing, it's very rare for me to not do at least a little post on a render. So many things to play with...

Thank you! It was quite a pleasure to bring something up I did a while a go and turn it into something really cool. And I think I just might use it as a background poster in another render. Good idea.
