Lacking inspiration? I think not. You've taken something relatively simple here and turned it into something most appealing. The only other thing I would think of doing with this would be maybe to add a few more shadowy figures just outside the ring of the firelight. But it looks really good as is too.

Beautiful Work, And like mlevans said, you do not lack inspiration, this is a fantastic image, with a warm and realistic feeling to it, i think its beautiful to see how the child really is focused on a tale an elder is sharing with him, you can read it off his face, and you posed the child..just like a real child, Oustanding work of art!
