Vilurien Emeralthi, a prince several times removed from the family throne and part of a long line of born-vampires. Vilurien was always just a little different from most, his manner and his interests a bit... eccentric. The decision to leave the Emeralthi castle and set out on his own was a mutual one between Vilurien and the family. It was not even his lack of empathy for the humans that served as their food source that bothered them, as most held a similar lack of concern for the lives of those so far beneath them. It was way Vilurien would keep the humans alive over days, weeks, months, feeding from them only enough to sate himself and then *toying* with them, taking both pleasure and amusement from his victims, that turned his family against him. Now Vilurien has a mansion and estate of his own, built not far from the nearest city, built into the very stone of a mountain and nearly impossible to find unless one knows exactly where to look. There he has the freedom to keep his servants *and* his toys, and to do with them whatever he wants.
