Description
I am trying to save some pictures of when I was involved with a race team. I am first to say the quality sucks.
during the 60's a friend had a 50 Ford pickup with a 48 Cadillac V-8. it was a blast to drive. some teenagers in a 56 Ford Vic was trying to get him to race, so when the light turned green he hit it and out ran them easily. at the next light they asked him "what you got in there mister?" he replied only a heavy foot
the engine was a 302 Chevy bored out to 330 cubic inches. it would do 195 mph on the straight ways. Nascar cars were doing 212mph then. when it would be in the pit between races I would clean the windows and polish the car. the driver Jimmy Finger wanted every edge he could get

a piece of history and very much a 60s look, like it

A most memorable photo and phrase "winning? it is in my foot". Nailed it.

the crew member on the right owned a body shop and he did the painting. the man to his right built the engine. at that time the engine had a $17,000 price tag for materials . the man out of sight behind him was the co-owner Fred Anderson. the man to the right of the driver's wife worked for the same company

"And this is just my brake foot - it doesn't get used much..." LOL
Great old shot, Richard. It's fun going back to those fun days isn't it?

It might be an old photo, but it is well-preserved.
