Beats jogging along the streets. I am in the process of creating a running track freebie , and finally reached the point where I had enough of the model transferred to DAZ Studio to be able to do an image. It's not ready to release by a long shot, but it's happening. OK, at the moment the image is just of someone doing the start of their warm-up at the 100m start, but it's a significant point for me in the modelling. The outfield, track, lines and spectator bank are all complete. The low wall around the outer edge of the outfield is there to disguise a DS problem, it runs out of significant digits on a big model and a gap appeared between the spectator bank & the outfield grass. The wall hides that. Now I shall be concentrating on the infield ground where many of the field events take place. I am hoping to release all the ground-level parts of the model in one hit, then as separate freebies I'll release the starting blocks and sprint poses, hurdles and hurdles poses, long jump poses with sand morphs, triple jump poses with sand morphs, pole vault equipment & poses and so on. The entire county level stadium is currently modelled in SolidWorks at DS 1:1 scale for a 400m track, and I have to get it to DS via a home written STL to OBJ convertor and re-model parts in my own modeller when the triangles play up (as they did initially in a couple of places on the bank). I texture map the models in my own home written modeller too. With any luck, it'll be complete by the Tokyo Olympics in July. The track includes 10 lanes, which is big enough to host the Olympics, and to facilitate someone wanting to do that, I have made the bank and low wall a separate model so they could be deleted and replaced with banks of spectator seats should someone want to do it. The outfield includes an area with medal podiums and flag poles, and there will be a remote control monorail camera to follow an entire 100m race. Regards, Richard
