Description
Two terrains made from Moon DEMs (Digital Elevation Map) and given a material from High Resolution Terrains 2. The moons, stars, cluster, galaxy and nebula are from the Space Construction Kit (everything available at Daz 3D, also the space ship Hog). Background and ambient light by the Gasclouds_B07 HDRI, the key light by the sun. Solid heavenly bodies far out in space.

A peculiar ,,space ship hog ,, ! well all the astro /SF elements unified i a universal concept !pretty good assembled !Hans! the DEM works good and overal sharp what is less easy in Bryce with Materials so I made my own DEM,s directly from NASA free to use moon crater photo,s to work greyscale scaled heights from there. Isnt it so that the USGS(ervice) DEMS are not presented with the natural coveroverlay in color so I have to work the other way around : from source photo to DEM and for 3D conversions it works fine too to make heights in photoshop first (not in deep terrain editor ) and than import them in to that editor . your crater scape looks good and sharp in this perspective. In one of my try outs I soon come up with something inspired by this excellent piece !

Thank you Benver. Before I had access to DEMs, I used to manually copy the 20 m isohypses from 25000 maps and made grey-scale layers in photoshop, then smoothed and imported into the Bryce TE. Using photos with the shadows can also give charming results, but the resulting terrain is not correct vertically. This is only a problem if you want the terrain to appear real. After all, art is art, not science, so why bother.
