Description
This is a render I dedicate to Pixeluna, because I used two characters of her "Whimsical Teens" in it.
This render had to wait a few weeksto be done, not because it was a lot of work, but because it has to many details to be rendered on my trusty old i7-2600 with its 8GB RAM and the slightly aged GeForce GT-545. DazStudio always crashed, because of the lack of Memory.
Now I set up my new i9-10900 with its 48GB of Ram and the GeForce RTX-3060 Ti so far (I'm not all done yet), that I can run DAZStudio on it.. The Speed increase is remarkable and the additional Memory helps to reduce the swapping tremendously.dForce finally got usable now (speed wise) and the IRAY-Preview is finally as quick, that it makes sense to check the outcome of the scenes more often.
However there are drawbacks as well with the new machine. The so much hated Win10 is now a reality in my private office (Yuck!!). The newer Processors don't even let you install Win7 anymore. So I have to cope with the fact, that I paid for a new computer, but Microsoft is potentially screwing up my running system at any time with their damn forced Updates
Another very big disappointment came later in the first renders with the new machine. I just had to find out, that DAZ-Studio don't uses my RTX 3060 Ti for Rendering. All the Renders are done purely by CPU, while my GPU is twiddling thumbs (CPU-Usage always 100%, GPU-Usage 2-3%). So this means I spend quite a lot of money for a new powerful Graphics card, just to find out, it isn't used by DAZ at all!!!!! I found a discussion thread at the DAZ-Forums where some one other reported the same (or very similar) probelm. DAZ just replied, that if the VRAM is all consumed, DAZ-Studio automatically switches to CPU-Render. How ever this can't be the real reason, since even if I make a very light scene (Floor, Bckground Plate and one (NUDE!!) Figure) it still switches to CPU-Rendering and the VRAM-Usage never ever Reached 2GB (of the existing 8GB)!!!!! I Suppose, Either I have some wrong settings or DAZ-Studio is that way miserable programmed, that it simply never uses the GPU (except for dForce, where I get a GPU- usage of about 14%). To find this out was a real, real huge embarrassing Bummer (for DAZ)!! I mean, according to some Benchmark sites on the Web, my RTX 3060 Ti ranks on the place 17 of about 600 Graphics cards tested and DAZ still doesn't utilize the imense computing Power at all!!! This is really, really ridiculous!!! I'm still using DS4.12 (and not DS4.14), and I'm happy of this, because I read of people, complaining that this whole problem (together with a lot of other new problems) got even worse in DS4.14. Maybe I try to make a parallel installation of DS4.11, 4.9 or even 4.8! DS 4.8 was the last release where even my old GT-545 was used for Rendering (IRAY worked there with OpenCL 1.1, later Versions needed OpenCL1.2, but the GT-545 can't run OpenCL1.2). We will see....
Credits:
There is a lot of Stuff in that scene, like HAPSBURG Scene, Some G2-Character (at the tables), one Genesis Character (the Lady on the left) BEN from Poser7 or 2012 I believe and even the good old dork of P4 had a comeback (sitting on the Bench) and I can't remember all of it yet.
If some one want's to know a specific model, just PM me and I'll try to find out...
Thank you so much for all the previous comments and if you like to, you may well comment, ask, criticize (or whatever) here as well.

Highly detailed scene. Morality? Look forward when you walk in a street...The old (blind???) man can look at the young lady, he does not walk...

Splendid scene - and charming characters!

Heya, Alexander! Thank you for this beautiful scene! The composition is amazing with a daily life situation, the details are awesome. I'm glad that you were able to use the Whimsical Teens set. I think the "blind man" in the background is not really blind as he looks at the direction of the beautiful woman in a blue dress. LOL. I had the same problem with my graphics card as well. The funny thing, whenever I use the older DS version, which is 4.11 or 4.12, my graphics card works fine but with the new 4.15, it is the CPU that kicks in. So now I just use either of the older version rather than the new one. It depends, if I am working on a new product without rendering, I use the latest version but when I render, the older version works best for me. DS has its own quirks.

This is such a lovely, happy, summery, (mask-free hopefully someday), and light-hearted scene. Superbly done, and a wonderful dedication for Jenny! She's an awesome artist, and is one of the first friends I made when I started messing with this 3D stuff back in 2009. I can't believe it's been that long...
Are you freaking kidding me??? DS won't use that RTX card??? That is just nuts! My DS machine (that I need to get DS working on again) has an RTX2080ti, and it worked beautifully before I started getting all the postgreSQL error nonsense. It smoked even large Iray renders... I can't believe it won't use the 3XXX series. That's crazy.
I still run Win 7 on my main Poser machine, as well as my main Photoshop machine. I have W-10 on a couple (including that DS machine), and haven't had too much trouble. Those damn updates every week or so make me nervous, though... Why do they need to update their stuff that often? NASA doesn't even update the OS on those rovers on freaking Mars that often...

Well, well, Rod! I just learned something today. I always thought, IRAY would only need the right OpenCL version to run, but I had to learn, that the effective GPU-Type (or GPU-Architecture to be precise) matters as well! I just got an answer from the DAZ-Forum :
Daz-Studio 4.14.0.8 (November 10, 2020)
--> Adds support for Ampere GPUs (SM 8.0 / GA100)
Which means, I can only use my GPU if I switch to the newest DS. My GPU is obviously too new to be supported by the older DS versions...
And I always thought, that the GPU-Driver and OpenCL work as a kind of Hardware abstraction layer between the GPU and the Software... At least DS uses the GPU (via OpenCL) for the dForce simulations...
You're never too old to learn.

The posing and lighting in particular are excellent. Well done!

Very nice. Curious how that 3060 runs - still chugging on a 1080 here. Wanted a 3080, then the chip shortage hit and prices doubled...

I love everyday scenes like these, I just cant make them! LOL Great job!!!
