“I treat many types of childhood traumas and melancholia,” she explained. “But Dorothy's case – and that of Wendy – are extremely rare. In my entire career of treating war-weariness and similar melancholias, I am aware of only one other similar case.”
“Who would that be, Dr. Dodgson?” asked Mary Darling.
Dr. Dodgson looked directly into Mary's eyes, but said nothing for several seconds. Finally, she answered: “Myself.”
