Description
sorry for the focus. the lens I was using was a piece of junk.
A lady I know does wedding photos as a career. she works for some company. anyway she along with her clients went to San Francisco to do a shoot. while they were there, they had lunch at a restaurant and when they left, they found the car window smashed and all of her equipment gone from the trunk. someone was casing her out to steal her cameras and lens, etc.
I never pursued doing people pictures, as I did not like someone tell me how to take pictures. I along with some of my relatives had stopped a restaurant to eat in Oklahoma. the sun was very strong and I asked them to walk over to the back of the building. my sister(older by 11 years) told me that where they were at was a better place. I was able to save one picture

an impressive result regardless of the lens, very desolate looking

I am always amazed by your color choices. To go from the blue of water and sky to the rich earth tones of land are both really enjoyment factors in viewing your art.

I had to chuckle at your bossy big sister. It's true that rocks are not opinionated and you always take such gorgeous photos of them!

sorry about your mishap, I've heard such stories about film and cameras being stolen, etc. As for doing weddings, etc: I did them as a musician, and everything we played was by request: It wasn't fun. But photographers? Omg! They gotta bring reflectors, and all kinds of lenses and cameras, and they gotta know the protocols---where to stand, the different family configurations, the religion (each religion has its own demands, photographically), difficult light on the dance floors and dinner tables, etc etc. I'd go crazy; and some of the wedding photographers I've known absolutely have. The one redemption? If they're good, they can demand huge fees. One can make a helluva living doing wedding photography, if they're good enough...
THIS photo is beautiful and gentle, like a carpet. Maybe the lens helped create the softness, and I can see that a better lens would've given more clarity; but you got the gentle sweep of the area, and that beautiful red too. A sweeping gentle capture. (And a helluva lot nicer than anything I see in the midwest! Do you know what I'd do to wake up to THIS sight, out my window? Oh man...)

This is a wonderful shot, the shadows add a nice depth.

A gorgeous photo here, Richard!
Yeah, there's always a lower element of society ready to steal whatever they thing they can turn quickly for their drug money.
I worked with a local modeling agency for a couple years several years ago. I enjoyed doing the shoots, but didn't care much for all the other nonsense. The guy that ran the agency was an egocentric, greedy sort of person - a real piece of work. He didn't want to pay more than a modicum of what a commercial photographer would earn. AND he wanted me to be his personal I.T. department for no extra pay. Glad I walked away...

All those strange rounded hills, each an each od the others. Gorgeous color.
